Riding and overnight guests enter free and only pay for the audio guide
Prices
- Adults: 1,000 ISK (audio guide included)
- Children under 12: Free
- Riding and overnight guests: Free entry; only pay for the audio guide 500 ISK
Experience both exhibitions at Lýtingsstaðir for a better price! A combined ticket for the Icelandic Sheepdog Heritage Centre and the The Old Stable - made from turf is 1,500 ISK.
Audio guide
The audio guide takes about 30 minutes and enhances your experience of the turf buildings, objects on display, and surroundings. Available in Icelandic, English, German, and French, and suitable for children from 6 years of age.
Farmvisit
We will introduce you to our farm and the Icelandic horse breed, you can hug a horse, take pictures, cuddle the dogs and see our Icelandic Settlement hens. You will visit the turf house with our audio guide and the Icelandic Sheepdog Settlement Center.
Groups
We offer a special program for groups, Horses & Heritage, which combines a visit to The Old Stable with stories about the Icelandic horse, the farm, and the role of horses in daily life. It is also possible to visit the Icelandic Sheepdog Heritage Center at Lýtingsstaðir and meet the farm's Icelandic dogs. Coffee and „Happy marriage cake“ (traditional Icelandic cake) can be provided. The program is well suited to groups who enjoy Icelandic culture, engaging learning, and personal service and guiding. Get a quote for your group!
